Hello

Hello all,
I am new to this blogging thing too, but thought I would give it a try. Russ and I and a few friends recently spent a weekend touring through the Finger Lakes Wine Country. This is a picture of the Taughannock Falls, which was very near the place we stayed. We had a great time, and came home with lots of new wines!! We also visited the NY Wine & Culinary Center in Canandaigua - very impressive. We had a terrific lunch there, and learned how to pair wine and chocolate - imagine that!!! Chocolate does go with everything!!! Laurie

This blogging thing....

Well... I'm just figuring out how this blog thing works. It seems easy to add pictures and text. One thing that surprises me is the new entries go on top, then descend in chronological order. I guess that makes sense. This reminds me of passing notes in class........I hope you don't leave this note on the floor or toss it out - please write back:) Don't be shy!

So here goes on an entry about me.....One thing I promised my mom was to try to bump "responsibility" down life's priority list, and push "Fun" up. I have to say, this isn't easy for me. I spend a lot of time trying to "do the right thing" for students, bills, housework, etc. None of that is much fun. But I love correspondence and I love all of my family. Soooooo... I am hoping sharing here, and checking out what you share will be FUN. My mom would be proud. There are many other things I SHOULD be doing......

PS The times of the posts are off..... I think they might be CA time, because they say I'm posting in the early AM.. Not so!

Zak's back at school...

Here is a shot of Zak when we dropped him off at school. We always try to take the "first-day-of-school" picture. The other beautiful building is the library at Vassar. His campus is GORGEOUS and he really loves it there. He is probably going to major in Biology. He also likes geology classes. He has always liked learning - he already knows much more than Joe or I :)

Nik's senior picture

This is Nik's senior photo, taken by Tracey. It really captures who he is. He is starting to think about college next year. He wants to go to school for art. He's been very busy this year. He works with Tracey, taking photos at weddings - and he also work at a local cafe. Then he takes ballet classes 2 nights a week, and also a drawing class. Somehow he manages to do it all. Plus he plays guitar, sings, and plays piano. Obviously, as a mom, I can't help showing off some pride here....

Hello All!

Hello all and welcome to a family and friend experiment. Do you have something to say or just want to check out what's going on with family and friends. Post here or read away:)
